Thanks to the Principal, faculty, and families of Hyde Leadership Public Charter School for sharing your wonderful young men from with us in New Zealand. Special thanks to Tal Bayer for introducing Rugby to the school and these young men, and more than that, for developing young men of great character and personality.

Last year we were blessed with Salim Lancaster and Alex Pettiford and this year's crew took it up a notch or two - Anthony Lewis, Tony Rogers, and Antoine Johnson.

'Recovery Packs' continued to be a hit and the country had to re-stock the supermarket shelves with 'squiggles' after the boys left for home...

Great to hear they have arrived safely with a little part of New Zealand in their hearts...they also left a little part of Hyde in our hearts and were wonderful representatives of their families, their school, and African-American people. Tony you have got to get Ant and Twon to choir practice...

Finally, Ant you've got to try some 'poached' eggs...with the runny yolk! mmmmm delicious - your Dady Taff misses you all. lol

Much love

Hi Hyde Rugby Team,

I just wanted to let you guys know how PROUD I am of you!  Keep up the good work and continue to enjoy all of your successes!

For those of you abroad now (Anthony, Tony, and Antoine), I'm looking forward to hearing more about your experiences out of the country when you get back.  By the way, make sure you teach your peers over there Spanish...I know you remember some words from our class (lol)!)

Safe travels back and see you soon! :)

Boys, your story is inspiring and proves yet again that Rugby is the most magnificent of all sports, it's value not limited to on field endeavours, perhaps more for learning about yourself, your team mates and for the memories and lasting friendships that it brings. More power to you!

Just watched the documentary on NY Times. I'm Australian and have been playing rugby all my life through my juniors now through my senior years. Love what you guys are doing, keep beleiving in yourselves. The USA will be a powerhouse in world rugby in my life time that is for certain.

Peace from Dubai.
